President Duma Boko: The African Hero Leading Change
As the true African Hero, His Excellency President Duma Boko of Botswana has helped bring our initiative to life with a progressive leadership approach that emphasises the delivery of measurable results, and real, lasting change for Africa’s people.
President Boko has long believed that progress begins at home, and African Hero is shaped by this principle. Through African Hero, his conviction is being transformed into tangible public infrastructure, creating new hope for the underserved.
As the first Head of State to formally champion our initiative, President Boko is currently spearheading its rollout through the Pula Programme, his presidential infrastructure and development agenda. As part of this collaboration, Botswana will establish a launchpad for African Hero’s regional projects in the form of a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Gaborone, with the aim of improving the lives of all African communities.
With the establishment of African Hero’s manufacturing facility, President Boko will position his country as the production hub for the entire Southern African Development Community (SADC). This factory will be responsible for producing the IPS (Insulated Panel System) structures that can house fully equipped, technology-enabled clinics and schools. In turn, these structures will be deployed, at speed, to neighbours and communities across the continent, serving as a lifeline for all African partners in need.
Under his guidance, Botswana is further unlocking the project’s expansion potential through offering blended financing arrangements and strategic partnerships with like-minded government partners, mobilising local capital for local solutions while giving investors the confidence of transparent financing instruments and state-backed oversight. The African Hero model is therefore designed for affordability and access, creating a proudly African development network that keeps value, skills, and ownership firmly on the continent.
The ultimate goal is to rewrite Africa’s narrative and reimagine its future with the roll-out of 150,000 new clinics and 450,000 new schools, realising the dream of healthier, better-educated communities able to achieve their own success stories.
With President Boko serving as the African Hero, hope will not be shipped in from elsewhere – it will rise from African hands and grow from African soil. Under his leadership, African Hero invites every African government, business, and citizen to share in our journey, and help build a flourishing, prosperous continent where no one is left behind.
